September/October 2025 Meeting: Speaking the Language of InfoSec in IG featuring Will Fletcher, General Counsel at Zasio
Summary:
Information security is not just IT’s responsibility—it’s a crucial component of effective information governance. While records and information Management (RIM) and information security (InfoSec) teams may seem to speak different languages, they share a fundamental mission: protecting information’s confidentiality, integrity, and availability (the CIA triad).
This session empowers RIM professionals to become active partners in their organization’s information security efforts. Attendees will learn essential InfoSec concepts, understand how to translate between RIM and InfoSec terminology, and develop strategies for productive collaboration with security teams. This presentation provides practical knowledge that every modern RIM professional needs to succeed in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

In his role, Will leads all legal operations, with a focus on negotiating complex technology contracts, managing regulatory compliance, and strengthening the company’s frameworks for information security, artificial intelligence, and data privacy.
